"There's a reason Afghan mothers are handing their babies to us . . . " over barbed wire to American soldiers. These are the words of Bill Maher. And he's right. What mother, in which country on the planet gives up her baby to strangers . . . out of love.
I've been quiet the last few months because we all have information overload. And to confront the current controversies often devolves into blood sport. We are all exhausted! But Bill Maher's words are refreshing. He can say this and not be cancelled or executed because he is a darling of the Liberal Left, almost untouchable as a court jester who can speak truth to power. So I will let Maher continue in his own words because if I say it, I'll be cancelled. He won't!
"Watching this s--- go down in Afghanistan, I was reminded lately of every conversation I've ever had with an immigrant, almost all of which if we got to really talking, included the notion, ‘Oh, you people have no idea. All you do is b---- about and badmouth your own country, but if you knew about the country I came from, you'd stop s----ing on your own" . . . "Ask your maid, ask your Uber driver, ask the Asian woman giving you a massage . . . They'll tell you what real oppression looks like."
"And this is where your new [Afghan] roommates that you took in will prove so valuable because they'll turn to you and say ‘Have you people lost your f---ing minds?!?… Have you ever heard of honor killings, public beheadings, throwing gay men off of roofs, arranged marriages to minors, state-sanctioned wife-beating, female genital mutilation, marriage by capture? Because we have."
Maher is not arguing why we went to Afghanistan or if we should leave. He is arguing that the reality there exposes how ridiculous is the fake oppression feigned by the Far Left at home. They have no clue about real oppression while going around condemning our own country.
Maher continues "We're not the bad guys. Oppression is what we were trying to stop in Afghanistan. We failed, but any immigrant will tell you we've largely succeeded here. And yet, the overriding thrust of current ‘woke’ ideology is America is rotten to the core, irredeemably racist from the moment it was founded and so oppressive, sexist and homophobic we can't find a host for the Oscars or 'Jeopardy!"
He continues to condemn the oversensitive self-victimized Far Left. "I'm sorry your professor said something you didn't like. That won't be a problem with the Taliban because you're not allowed to go to school. In Saudi Arabia, grown women can be jailed for doing the kind of things we think of as routine without the permission of a male guardian. China rounds you up if you're the wrong religion and puts you in camps."
"America may not be the country of your faculty lounge and Twitter dreams, but no one here tries to escape by hanging on to an airplane. No, we wait 'til we get inside the plane to fight – and only because they cut off the beverage service."
Maher's words are an indictment of the "woke" Far Left. For the record Maher is a classic Liberal who still believes in free speech, even comedy that offends, and public debate. He is not Far Left. He does not support the growing authoritarianism that censures free thought. Most of my friends are Liberals and would fully agree. But the problem is this. Those same Liberals vote for the Far Left and have given it the license and legitimacy it craves.
There is a reason why our country is so divided. Just as there is a reason why mothers would throw their babies over barbed wire fences. There is a reason . . . and it's not pretty!

PS All credit goes to Bill Maher for having the courage to say what most people think and believe.
This reason is also that most of the understanding came from the system of depression by the people and fed to the people as a “prayer” that these will make the decisions a better world or to feed their interest when in realty it is all for the fame of advertising the power in which craves the game of life to cruel disloyalties, these actions and the maddest decisions on earth that even made the mother soul of nature cry out of fear to what we as humanity has done. Like a mental illness that spreads from an never ending cycle of infection, the sinful actions being said and done as if these were another days‘ opinion tainted with innocent…
